The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!

Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount Plus and Apple TV today (February 20, 2026) have added 20 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Last Thing He Told Me (Season 2 Premiere)

Where to Watch: Apple TV

When to Watch: Friday, February 20

Who’s In It: Jennifer Garner

Okay, I did not see season one, but my wife watched it and became a quick fan. So, here we go. (And be patient; it’s a long description.) Jennifer Garner stars as a Mom who must bond with her estranged 16-year-old step daughter so they can search for her husband who vanished while being investigated by the FBI. That’s a lot to unpack there but my wife says it’s an intense drama with lots of twists. Season one also available on Apple TV and season two debuts today

Dead of Winter (2025)

Where to Watch: HBO Max

What Kind of Movie: Thriller

Who’s In It: Emma Thompson, Judy Greer

Emma Thompson (pictured above) stars as a recent Minnesota widower who stumbles upon a bound young girl while fulfilling her husband’s request to scatter his ashes in Lake Hilda. She plots to rescue the child but soon encounters a dangerous couple (Judy Greer, Mark Menchaca) who seem willing to do anything to keep her captive. Dead of Winter, which was released in select theaters late last year, was called a taut thriller by most critics who singled out Thompson and Greer for their efforts.

The Expendables (1-4)

Where to Watch: Netflix

What Kind of Show: Campy Action

Who’s In It: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Arnold Schwarzenegger (and many more)

The Expendables franchise, which includes these four films, is Sylvester Stallone’s version of Burt Reynolds’ Cannonball Run films of the 1970s-80s. Sly (pictured above), who wrote the scripts, assembled the great action stars (and his pals) of his era to overthrow Latin American dictators and other evil forces while occasionally dishing out comedic zingers. The result is great, campy fun with tons of action and over-the-top performances. Lower the lights, and your expectations, and you will love these movies.
