A performer who became famous online for playing the Evil Queen at Disneyland is speaking out after suddenly losing her job. Actress and singer Sabrina Von B., known for her sharp and funny take on the classic villain, says her exit from the park happened fast and without warning.

According to Sabrina Von B., she had spent eight years working as a character performer at the California theme park before being dismissed earlier this year. She said the moment was emotional because she was escorted out through the same entrance she first walked through as a teenager starting her career. She explained that the situation felt quiet and sudden, recalling, “It happened a lot more quietly than you would think. I was walked out of the gates… I walked out of the same gates I walked in from my first day there.”

The performer told fans she does not know the exact reason she was let go. She said she believes the decision was not justified. She also made it clear that her growing online fame was not the main cause of the firing. “The virality played a small role, but ultimately, the popularity of my character was not why I was let go,” she said.

Sabrina Von B.’s portrayal of the Evil Queen had gained attention online thanks to viral videos and witty interactions with guests. Fans traveled from around the world hoping to meet her at the park. Despite that popularity, she said the end of her job came quickly and without closure. “It was a shock. It all happened very quickly, I didn’t get a proper goodbye,” she explained.

Disney parks require performers to stay anonymous in order to protect the illusion of the characters. Now that she is no longer employed there, she has revealed her identity online and quickly gained a large following.

She shared mixed feelings about the secrecy rule. “I feel like Disney’s policy on characters — their character performers remaining anonymous — which obviously some do want to, and that is completely fine, but not even making it like a possibility to come out publicly and show your work definitely is a bit of a weird spot to be in, but you know, it’s part of the job when you sign up for it.” She added, “I did a good job of keeping that magic up until the end, when I no longer had to anymore.”

She described the moment of revealing her identity as a big change after years of living a double life. “I’ve been playing this character for a long time, but then, people are finding out it’s me. It’s like a big reveal… It just sort of feels like that double life is now formed into one.”

The performer said she loved the job and the connection with fans. She also expressed disappointment with how her departure was handled. “I wish Disney treasured or valued their cast members in a way, and realized the value that every individual brings to their company, before sort of removing them,” she said. “I wish that it didn’t feel like we were dispensable to them.”

Employment attorney Marina Fraigun spoke about the situation and explained that, without knowing the full details, it is hard to say if the performer has legal grounds for a case. Fraigun noted that company rules about anonymity are common and may fall under normal employment policies. She said, “Even if we believe that the virality of her fame is what got her fired, I still don’t think she has a wrongful termination claim.”

Despite the setback, Sabrina Von B. is looking ahead. She said she is now focusing on auditions and future opportunities. She also shared gratitude for the support she has received online. “I’m truly just taking it all in right now. And it’s really amazing to receive so much love and support, and I’m really grateful,” she said. Still, she admitted the sudden job loss has been difficult and has left her in a tight financial spot.
